And when researching the role of Lancashire as the home of the industrial revolution in Britain, Carol began to think about using fossil fuels as materials for art work. If the materials of everyday life, including those used by artists, are available for use only through the burning of fossil fuels, then perhaps using fuels directly could contribute to a more vital awareness of our relationship to limited resources.
